Two to Tango – Castanet Finger Exercises is a compact practice course featuring a series of castanet finger exercises set to tango music.

A key focus of this course is training both hands actively and equally. Rather than using one hand mainly as support, the exercises develop finger control, coordination and agility in both the right and left hand.

The course is suitable for learners who are building their finger technique, but it can also be used as a fun and musical warm-up before practising other castanet repertoire. Because the exercises are explained clearly and visually, beginners can use them to develop coordination step by step, while more experienced players can return to them as a focused finger workout.

Each section introduces a different finger pattern. You will first learn the exercises step by step with clear visual finger guides, showing exactly which fingers are used and in which order.

For the faster practice sections with music, the visuals are intentionally kept simpler. Instead of displaying every finger number, you will mainly see the castanet sound syllables, such as Ti, Ta, Ri-a and Ra-i, depending on the exercise. For this reason, it is recommended to watch the step-by-step visual guides first before moving on to the full music practice.

The course includes alternating finger patterns, two- and three-finger combinations, ria and rai exercises, and faster finger sequences. Once the patterns feel familiar, you can practise them with the original tango music and gradually rely on fewer visual cues.
